Techrete awarded OHSAS 18001 Health & Safety standard & re-certified for ISO 9001:2000

Techrete, the largest manufacturer of architectural precast concrete cladding in Ireland and the UK, has become the first company of its kind to be awarded the Health & Safety Certification OHSAS 18001 by the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI). The company also achieved re-certification for ISO9001:2000 for the design, manufacture and erection of architectural precast panels.

Commenting on the certifications, Marcus Sweeney, Managing Director at Techrete said, “Only 20% of businesses have been awarded certification to OHSAS 18001 and the fact that Techrete is the first architectural precast concrete cladding company in Ireland & the UK to achieve this standard, provides our customers and employees with evidence of our commitment to health & safety in our industry. The achievement of these milestones for the business is totally fundamental to our success.”

OHSAS 18001 is an international specification that sets out a series of requirements for Health & Safety Management systems, to enable organisations to control Health & Safety risks and improve performance. According to Michael Sanderson (Head of Safety & Environmental Management at Techrete), “Passing the NSAI audits is just the beginning and we must continue to work with the systems to ensure the standards are implemented, maintained and improved.”
